Drug Information Centre Is A Proud Of Maharashtra

It would give every pharmacist in the state a sense of proud to know that Maharashtra State Pharmacy council has set up a drug Information centre here, with the aim of helping pharmacists and doctors getting the depth and focused drug information and to help medical faculty monitoring adverse drug reactions by using powerful medical data, thus improving patient compliance. Drug information center would be promoting balanced use of drugs regularly in this state.
Drug information centre is an established idea in clinical practice out of the country, in developing countries. Information is key to preventing medication errors. Such information leads to enhance quality of patients care and thus improve patient outcome.
With rapid advancement in Biological and medical science, huge information about diseases and drugs has emerged out. Access of this vast information being limited, rational utilization and selection of drugs has been more complex. The conventional method of obtaining drug information is through the medical representatives and product literature provided by the manufacturers, which may be incomplete.
The Maharashtra drug information centre is third drug information centre in India and it is the first one in west zone of our country.
